![]() ![]() ![]() Resizing the sprites I could get my hands on didn't end up quite as neat as I'dve liked in some cases and of course the Soul Calibur characters had no sprites to work with so I did what I could, but I wanted to do my best to include everyone. The way I set the image up is with as far as I know the first character to introduce the style to the genre, Ukyo Tachibana of Samurai Shodown, facing towards all the others with all those who followed his example with their own takes on the style gathered before him. I chose characters who I feel represent this art, keeping their katana or similarly styled blades in their sheath during their neutral stance and only take them out during an attack or maybe sometimes block. To those unfamiliar, Iaijutsu, or Iaido, is the Japanese art of unsheating a blade and slicing one's target in a single fluid motion. ![]() To celebrate the return of Baiken to the Guilty Gear roster I thought I'd do another group pick and the theme I felt would best fit her was this, her fighting style or at least the closest real-life approximation and it's interpretations in fighting games. ![]()
